This was a duo show of multi-media work that I did with Maureen Cassidy Keast. I have always loved children’s books and toys—their shapes, colors, sounds, and movements; their feel. For this show, my love for toys, books, and history made me play with the art, trying to create and recreate what we learn when we play with the various objects. It was fun. Unless we have forgotten how, adults play and learn the way children do. We never want to stop playing because it makes us happy.
That’s what this show was all about . . . celebration of play in its many forms: fun, movement, games, music, drama, art—creations of the young, the old, and the in-between. Creating and playing with art keeps us learning, growing, and alive; the works in this show, as the samples on this page demonstrate, celebrated that.
